Danielle’s Web Portfolio for EDU 506

Overview of Contents and Reflection on EDU 506:EDU 506 has been a joy to be a part of! Professor Yang has a wonderful way about him as he understands the realities of his students’ lives and takes this into consideration both through his assignments and the in-class time to work on them. Each of the assignments was very meaningful to me as an educator and provided me with a practical alternative to rote teaching methodologies. Although the web-quest and web-portfolio were complicated to fulfill, Professor Yang was very patient and helped to guide me through- step by step until the process was completed. Because of this, I feel confident that I could re-create these assignments on my own to use on a practical basis. Through this course, I have arrived at a greater appreciation for incorporating technology into my classroom and engaging students more in the topics that I am teaching.
Listed here are links to the assignements that I completed in EDU 506. In order, they are a lesson plan using Microsoft Word, a spreadsheet lesson, a group Power Point presentation, Webquest, and finally this Web Portfolio compilation of all the completed work. For each assignment, there is a description of what was required, the processes involved, and the overall expected results from a complete assignment. Below the description is a short reflection and rationale for how I interacted with the assignment as well as my overall impressions of what I learned as a result.
